March 27th 1970 Oulton Park - Tony leads the Morris Minor of Mike Chittenden up Dear Leap in a Hepolite-Glacer round. For the new decade the Escort had new paint and looked alot like the Alan Mann group 5 cars from the previous 2 seasons as a tribute. June 21st 1970 -Croft : Suggy leads the chase behind Gerry Marshall ,Doug Niven and Geoff Wood to take 4th place in this BARC Osram-GEC Championship round. Bowmaker follows in the white Escort with Dave Minchin ( white Mini ) ,John Watts ( 28 ) and Jim Colbrook snapping at their heels.
August 2nd 1970 Silverstone - Tony dices with Mick Hill in the Janglia during a NSCC race
August 9th 1970 - classic Croft chicane action in this 'Troy Tires' Championship round. Tony leads the pack at the end of the first lap but Geoff Wood ( Vitamin Mini ) and Keith Bowmaker in the Escort got passed before the end. Tony took in 5 of the 12 Troy Tires rounds and gained 3 class wins. Trips to Croft in particular had become a regular event with just a straight run north up the A1 from Tony`s hometown of Doncaster. Tony`s car now running with 5 portholes in the front scuttle for cooling.
*Was 6th Reserve entry so having missed the over 1000cc race was allowed to race in the 1000cc race having qualified 3rd best time overall.
